Develop a highly contemporary mixed use/residential tower development on a corner location at the southern end of Sydney Road, Brunswick.
In a historically low-height environment, local council interim planning controls compromised our client’s radical plans in terms of height and street setbacks. Council Officer support and a highly resolved architectural outcome were essential. Subsequently during the building phase, Planning & Property Partners resolved a potential derailment of the entire project, relating to balconies constructed over title boundaries and into council air space.
Against a background of changing planning controls and local government requirements, Planning & Property Partners navigated a favourable council position which culminated in successful outcomes at VCAT. The balcony issues were resolved through valuation and purchase of council air space, whilst simultaneously getting the finished product to market.
